Abstract
THE POPULISM OF SOME EUROPEAN GOVERNMENTS DOES NOTHING BUT CONTRIBUTES TO AGGRAVATING THE SENSE OF INSECURITY NOT ONLY AMONG THE IMMIGRANTS BUT ALSO AMONG THE NATIVE CI TIZENS OF THE RECEIVING COUNTRIES. ESTABLISHING A COMMON APPROACH TO MIGRATION MANAGEMENT ISSUES AND THE HARMONIZATION OF MIGRATION POLICIES OF THE MEMBER STATES IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CHALLENGES OF MIGRATION IN THE EUROPEAN UNION. AT THIS MOMENT, TH E CONFRONTATION THAT TAKES PLACE IN EUROPE ON THE TOPIC OF INTERNATIONAL MIGRATION HAS AS A SUBJECT THE SUCCESS OR THE FAILURE OF THE EUROPEAN MULTICULTURALISM, ACHIEVED THROUGH THE ADOPTION OF MIGRANTS WITH THEIR CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS BACKGROUND.
