INCLUSION AND EXCLUSION. THE ROLE OF THE ROMANIAN ROMA MUSIC IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Abstract
THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE EMPHASIZES THE CATEGORY OF MUSICIAN ROMA SINCE THE VERY FIRST HISTORICAL RECORDS MENTIONING THEM. THE MUSICIAN JOB IS PRESENTED AS A BASIC PROFESSION. ROMA MUSICIANS HAVE BEEN AND CURRENTLY STILL ARE REPRESENTATIVE FOR THEIR ORIG INATING ETHNICITY. OVET TIME, THEY HAVE SUCCEEDED IN TURNING THIS PROFESSION INTO AN ELEMENT OF ETHNIC IDENTITY AND PRIDE. THIS IS ARGUED BY THE PRESENCE OF THE MUSICIAN ROMA AROUND ALL SOCIAL CATEGORIES, CLASSES AND AMONG ALL THE POPULATIONS THEY CAME INT O CONTACT WITH. FROM THIS PERSPECTIVE, IT IS VERY INTERESTING TO APPROACH THE ASPECTS RELATED TO THE EVOLUTION OF HISTORY, ECONOMY AND DEMOGRAPHY SPECIFIC TO THIS ROMA CATEGORY STANDING OUT THROUGHOUT HISTORY.
